Group Therapy

I offer 3 groups:

From Survivors to Strivers Healing Group- This is a trauma recovery group designed to assist youth between 15 and 18 years old, in healing from traumatic stress associated with exposure to community violence. The group meets for 8, 1 hour and 15 minute sessions. It is comprised of 5 to 6 youth. This group incorporates talk/rap sessions and art/movement sessions to help young people learn skills to recover, manage, and heal from community trauma.

Restorative Lineage Group- This is a traumatic grief group designed to assist court involved young people between the ages of 19 and 24, work through traumatic grief experienced from losing a loved one due to community violence. The group meets for 10, 1 hour and 15 minute sessions. It is comprised of 5 to 6 young people and provides psychoeducation on the stages of grief. This is also a process group where young people work through their thoughts and feelings, and find ways to reconcile and move their lives forward after traumatic loss.

Love Still Lives Here Group-The purpose of this group is to help adolescent and young adult survivors heal from the traumatic affects of Intimate Partner Violence (IPV). This group meets for 8 to 10, 1 hour and 15 minute sessions. It is compromised of 5 to 6 members and provides psychoeducation on the Cycle of Violence. Additionally, members will have the opportunity to share and process their stories in a supportive environment and learn to regain trust and love in themselves and others.
