Helping Professional Workshops

Helping Professional Workshop

Individuals whose work encompasses helping others better their lives, are considered “helping professionals.” Such professionals exist in a vast array of industries including social work, psychology, education, and medicine.

I conduct 2 to 8 hour workshops for helping professionals working with individuals who may have been exposed to trauma. My workshops are held on site at my Washington, D.C. office, and off site upon request from schools, youth centers, sport’s teams, and social service agencies in Maryland and the District of Columbia.

I offer 2 workshops:

What is Trauma? : Helping Young People Navigate through Trauma- This workshop is geared towards assisting helping professionals recognize the signs of trauma in youth who are exposed to interpersonal and community violence. I also teach helping professionals strategies for providing trauma-informed care through supportive care, resources, and advocacy for the youth they help.
